Balancing the Scales: A Dialogue on Attorney Well-Being (CLE #551144)

July 21 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

Attorneys work in a high-stakes, intellectually demanding environment, oftentimes marked by strict deadlines, perfectionism, isolation, and exposure to difficult case material. This CLE examines the unique stressors faced by attorneys and places them within the broader context of the legal profession’s well-documented mental-health and substance-use challenges, including anxiety, depression, burnout, and problematic alcohol use as well as the various ethical obligations of the professional. Participants will learn to identify common sources and warning signs of stress and impairment, explore practical strategies for managing workloads and personal and professional stressors, and learn about confidential support options and how to seek help without stigma. The program is designed to normalize these experiences and equip litigators with realistic tools to protect their well-being during throughout their years practicing.
