Moral Injury in the Legal Profession: Naming Harm, Interrupting Shame, and Cultivating Healing (by Professor Natalie Netzel)

September 16 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

This one-hour program examines moral injury as a significant and increasingly recognized contributor to mental health challenges in the legal profession. Moral injury arises when lawyers are repeatedly exposed to, participate in, or are constrained by professional roles and legal systems that produce outcomes in conflict with their deeply held moral, ethical, or professional values. While lawyers are accustomed to discussing stress and burnout, moral injury captures a distinct form of psychological harm that implicates meaning, identity, and integrity. Taught by distinguished faculty person, Professor Natalie Netzel. Registration
